📌 Project Title:
The Unseen Cost of Heat: Assessing the Non-Economic Loss and Damage (NELD) on the Health of Urban Outdoor Workers in Dhaka.
🎯 The Mission:
This research documents the physical, mental, and social impacts of extreme heat stress on Dhaka's informal outdoor workers. I am looking for empathetic enumerators to collect vital data from rickshaw pullers and street vendors.
📋 Key Responsibilities & Field Logistics:
Each selected candidate will be assigned to 01 designated location (Karwan Bazar, Gulistan, Abdullahpur, or Gabtoli) and will be responsible for:
Quantitative Surveys:
Complete 100 short surveys (approx. 05 to 10 minutes each) using KoBo Toolbox on mobile devices.
Distribute a 10 BDT token of appreciation (e.g., snacks, cold sharbat, ORS, tea etc.) to each survey respondent immediately after completion.
Qualitative In-Depth Interviews (IDIs):
Conduct 02 audio-recorded IDIs (01 male worker and 01 female worker) using a semi-structured interview guide.
Distribute a 300 BDT token of appreciation (e.g., lunch etc.) to each IDI respondent immediately after completion..
Transcription:
Accurately transcribe the audio recordings of the 02 IDIs into Bangla and English text format for analysis.
💰 Remuneration & Payment Structure:
Quantitative Surveys: 30 BDT per valid, completed survey (Total: 3,000 BDT for 100 surveys).
IDI & Transcription: 1,000 BDT per transcribed IDI (Total: 2,000 BDT for 02 IDIs).
Participant Costs: All participant compensation (10 BDT per survey respondent and 300 BDT per IDI respondent) will be provided separately and is not deducted from your pay.
📍 Locations:
Karwan Bazar | Gulistan | Abdullahpur | Gabtoli; (01 position per location).
⌛ Duration of Fieldwork:
07 Days [06/09/2026 to 12/09/2026].
✅ Requirements:
Current or recent university graduate.
Prior experience in field data collection (surveys and qualitative IDIs).
Proficiency with KoBo Toolbox and audio recording tools.
Ability to conduct clear, accurate verbatim transcription in Bangla.
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and comfort working in busy outdoor environments during daytime hours.
